Jon Stewart: The best defense against bullshit is vigilance

Jon Stewart inspires me. In my moments of absolute fantasy I imagine I am in some small way contributing to the work he began.

So it gives me great pleasure that he devoted the final moments of his final show to the theme “Bullshit is everywhere.” He cites, for example:

The bullshit of infinite possibility: we can’t do anything because we do not yet know everything.

This, of course, being the justification for failing to act on any problem, such as global warming.

As Jon tells us, “Looking for bullshit is a pleasant way to pass the time. The best defense against bullshit is vigilance. If you smell something, say something.”

I will, Jon, I will.

  1. Jonny Stuart is bullshit personified. Anyone that adores him would rather have bullshit than the truth. But leftists are voluminous consumers and producers of malignant bullshit, so I guess that I have my answer as to whether your particular bullshit is worthy of attention. You and your Obamunist filth can ride with McDonalds down the rabbit hole.

  2. I agree. I’ll call bullshit when I see bullshit.
The claim that humans are causing catastrophic global warming is BULLSHIT. Anyone who makes that claim is talking BULLSHIT. Anyone who claims we need to take action to combat global warming, is talking BULLSHIT.
The facts speak for themselves. Over the last two decades, there has been a 30 per cent increase in CO2 in the atmosphere and a close to zero per cent increase in global temperature. There is no correlation, so it is BULLSHIT to claim causation.

    1. Thanks for such a persuasively argued comment. I can see you put a lot of thought into it. There are a few thousand scientists and a few million tons of melting ice at both poles that might beg to differ, but hey, I’m all for intelligent dialogue.
